Carmen Dellas is a Michigan native of Sicilian descent and the mother of UNICO Naples President, Melanie Dellas. She has a long history of philanthropy, dedicating time, energy and support to nonprofit organizations and families in need. She began her journey as a proud Italian serving on the Queens Court on Columbus Day, representing the Italian Sons and Daughters of America in the 1960s. Carmen has worked to fundraise for the American Lung Association of Michigan; she was a long-standing member of the Detroit Symphony Women’s League and chairwoman of several showhouses that raised funds for new instruments; she helped raise funds at Artful Garden Shows for The Association for Retinopathy of Prematurity and Related Diseases (ROPARD); and she is a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, an international women’s sorority. She currently lives in Naples, Fla., with her husband, George, and their bichon, Mootzarella.
